Shockwave Therapy
Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy is a clinically proven treatment for soft tissue injuries. A shockwave is defined as a sound wave that passes through the body and is not an electrical pulse. Treatment initiates a pro inflammatory response in the tissue where the shockwaves have been applied. The body responds by increasing the blood circulation and metabolism in the impact area which in turn accelerates the body’s own healing processes. The shockwaves break down injured tissue and calcifications.

Shockwave Therapy Advantages
Shockwave therapy is normally recommended for patients who have already had previous conservative therapies that have provided little or no clinical benefit. The treatment stimulates and effectively supports the body’s self healing mechanisms. It is usual to experience immediate pain relief following the treatment and hence improved movement. Reported side effects are minimal, however there may be some discomfort during treatment such as skin reddening, possible bruising. If you are concerned please speak with your medical practitioner before receiving treatment.

What is Focused Shockwave Therapy?
Focused shockwaves have a higher energy density and faster impulse compared to radial devices. Focused shockwaves can target deeper tissues more precisely, delivering all of its energy within the tissue. Local painful spots, chronic insertional tendinopathies, bone stress injuries and deep trigger points are therefore best treated with focused shockwaves.
Penetration depth can be modified using stand-offs and can reach up to 12.5cm.

Testimonial
In June 2016 a trauma to my left elbow left me with severe tennis elbow. My doctor gave me exercises to do but they did not help at all. He then suggested I try shockwave treatment and gave me Gary's phone number.
I have had 5 sessions with Gary, and so far things are going really well. I am not totally pain free but am now able to do most things without a problem. He gave me gentle exercises to do and ordered a brace to prevent further damage whist everything healed.
Gary is very knowledgeable and takes time to listen to you. A little way to go yet but thank you Gary for what you have achieved.
