What Is a PSA Test?

A PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) test is a simple blood test that measures the level of PSA—a protein produced by the prostate gland—in your blood.

It’s commonly used to help detect:

  • Prostate cancer

  • Enlarged prostate (BPH)

  • Prostate inflammation (prostatitis)

Small amounts of PSA are normal, but elevated levels may indicate a condition that needs further investigation.

Gary helped me last Friday with my frozen shoulder. He was very thorough, professional and informative. I was given a cortisone injection, which he talked me through. During the procedure he was calming and efficient. This was painless and worked beyond my expectations.I was given excellent advice and fornominal service. My shoulder is slowly on the mend and I won't be using anyone else if I have future issues.
Thankyou to Vale Health Clinic.

Attended Gary at the Vale Health Clinic for chronic shoulder calcific tendinopathy, the pain was unbearable, needed focus shockwave therapy for ‘nodules’ and the Vale was the only place in Kent to provide this. Gary was informative, without being condescending, and explaining everything he was doing and why, as well as being personable and chatty! Ten sessions and the improvement is phenomenal, and avoided more invasive treatments! I would highly recommend Gary!

I received shockwave treatment this year for severe achilles tendonitis. I thought I would wait the 8-10 weeks following my last shockwave session with Gary Edwards. The NHS guidance states improvement occurs only after this period has elapsed. So I can give an honest review to people. Firstly Gary was a great help, in particular his recommendations on using the balance pad to strengthen surrounding tendons. I received 7 shockwave sessions from Gary. I can say it took a long time to notice any major improvement, I am a club runner and was keen to get back on the track. The pain first thing in the morning took a long time to diminish, and the size of the lump on my achilles did not change for a long time despite shockwave and following stretches recommended to me. I would say after around 10 weeks from my last shockwave ( late December) I have noticed the bump reducing slightly and the pain upon pressing being less. So my conclusion is if you are a runner, you will need a heck of a lot of patience with achilles tendonitis. Mine has been 9 months. I think the shockwave has helped on reflection, but it has not yet fully healed - hence my 4 star rating. I would go easy on Google type stretches as could worsen the pain. Rest up and give shockwave a try, but please don't expect it to work quickly and solve everything. Gary's enthusiasm and ideas were great and thanking him for that. I am seeing some improvement now but I can't be a 100 per cent sure it was shockwave, or simply the fact that I have been resting my foot more in recent weeks ? Give it a go and good luck. Max

I have been visiting Vale Health Clinic for a couple of years now and recommend Jean Luc to everyone I meet. He adopts a holistic, whole person approach, and has a deep intuitive understanding of body and mind. Jeans Luc takes time to understand the pressures and challenges that contribute to physical stresses within the body and offers great advice for continuing the work at home. The clinic is beautiful and centrally located, I couldn’t recommend them more.
